‘Monumental’ on Netflix

If you want your next Netflix movie to teach you about an environmentalist legend and feature some incredible archival footage of the American West from the 30′s, you’ll be happy to know that the 2005 documentary Monumental: David Brower’s Fight for Wild America has just been added to Instant Netflix.
Brower was a leading mountaineer of his time who went on to become one of the most important figures in the environmental movement, helping to found several organizations like the Sierra Club and the League of Conservation Voters. This documentary follows Brower’s life as he fought to help pass the 1964 Wilderness Act and save the Grand Canyon from industrial mining.
