Icicles in Los Angeles

Once again I got screwed by the weather forecast, staying inside on Saturday when it was supposed to rain all day. I really should just realize that SoCal meteorologists don’t really know how rain works.
I did get outside on Sunday for a brisk, cool-weather hike near Echo Mountain. Unfortunately most of the snow had melted from that elevation, but there was a bit of snow still hiding out in the shade:

At higher elevations, I could see some of the upper peaks still dusted with snow and ice, too. And I even spotted some icicles hanging out along the side of the trail. Icicles! In Los Angeles!
