It depends upon how you define heretic. I do not believe in the Jesus who was a conglomeration of paganism and true Christianity as it existed in the first century. If that makes me a heretic, so be it.

If it is because I believe that we should eat Kosher, remain pacifists, and not have any crosses or icons, then I am a heretic.

If it is because I acknowledge the Spirit of Prophecy and the physical manifestation of the Holy Spirit, then I am a heretic.

If it is because I do not believe that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are equal forms of God, then I am a heretic.

If you want to call me a heretic because I believe in endogamy and want to hold onto our culture, then so be it.

And if I am a heretic, what are you going to do about it? Burn me at the stake?

Hey RedOctober..if you are so against this nation and its christian values, why don't you go on a PAHOT and leave so we can all go to Hell here in the USA. All you young Molokan fanatics who hold on to your S&L and old ways, with the diminishing church partcipation, should go back to Paraguay/Brazil and live in the jungle like Jim Jones did, doing whatever you fanatics feel free to do. There was a group that did the POHOT to Oregan and what I hear some of them are surround by their own compound and refuse to socialize even with their own, so please all you like minded MAXIMIST....leave on you POHOT........

It is not being against this nation and it is not being against christian values. Rather, it is when religious freedom becomes like that in Saudi Arabia or Russia prior to 1917, that you can be any religion as long as it is our branch of Christianity.

Mystery Guest, I don't believe that Jim Jones lived his days out in Paraguay or Brazil, but that is a nice try. There is some merit to that line of thinking, as it does sound like the wilderness prophesied about in the book of Revelation. However, I would rather live in an industrialized nation which permits religious freedom. Until the First Amendment is abrograted or the Holy Spirit tells me otherwise, I will be staying right where I am at.

Regarding the compound in Oregon, I am not sure what you are talking about. I consider myself a Maximist because I accept the writings in the S&L, but it is a stretch to call all people who accept the S&L "like-minded." I could tell you to go off with your Jim Jones and David Koresh like minded Christians, but that would not be polite. I do not consider myself to be a Spirit and Life fanatic. I do acknowledge that there are a few individuals who deify Maxim, but most Molokans do not. Comparing Molokans who accept the S&L as deifying Maxim is no different than calling all Christians who accept the Bible as deifying David Koresh.
