R2D2 most often rolls around on wheels. He may need to be stationary in order to activate the magnetic feet. Just a thought.
As for the Wookies, they were all sympathetic with the Jedi and did not cave in to the Emperor's demands. As such, the planet probably suffered severe sanctions by the Emperor. And then, maybe Han Solo's role in the Galaxy was greater than we are actually led to believe. Why was Han Solo so appathetic to the cause of the rebels and to the Empire, but then turns around and helps the Rebels for no apparent reason? It seems there must be some history there too in the 25 or so years between episodes 3 and 4. This can really set things up for an episode 3.5, or an extended DVD version with an hour of extra footage in which Lucas can sell the whole movie all over again. The marketing genius. |

Pavel Wrote:R2D2 most often rolls around on wheels. He may need to be stationary in order to activate the magnetic feet. Just a thought. Yeah, thats a thought about R2, but when he helped fix the ship, he rolled to the problem while the ship was in motion. My thoughts exactly on the Wookies, pure genius. Oye, how pathetic are we, analysing Star Wars so deeply. wall A thorough knowledge of the Bible is the foundation of all clear views of religion. He that is well-grounded in it will not generally be found a waverer, and carried about by every wind of new doctrine. Any system of training which does not make a knowledge of Scripture the first thing is unsafe and unsound. -J. C. Ryle |

Lets take the pathetic to a whole new level....
Good point on R2...remember, in Episode I he was in a non atmospheric environment, whereas the hanger in Ep IIIwas. Also in Ep I, he knew he was going out...and Ep III was kind of a surprise. As for the Wookies....well, its my understanding according to the books, Lucas interviews, etc. The Wookies were enslaved and scattered under the emperor. Han Solo was in the Imperial Navy or Army (cant remember which) and saw Chewbacca being beaten and mis-treated by fellow Cadets. Apparently something snapped and he freed Chewbacca and fled the Imperial Military. The Wookies have a life debt thing similar to the Gungans and hence he stuck with Han. Eventually the two became friends. Yes they did leave a lot of open ends in this movie, including leaving the possibility for more Jedi's to have survived. But there is a reason for that....George Lucas is in talks or has already signed the deal to create a Star Wars for TV focusing on the "open-ended" portions of the story. When faith is chained to doctrine, truth becomes heresy and God is forgotten. |

The TV series could go on for 25 years, showing how Luke and Leia grew up and all of the Darkness which Vader and Sidious do together, while Obi-Wan learns how to grow in the force from his old master. I just hope it doesn't turn cheesy.
