When did we loose our faith?
The Molokans were a break away from the Orthodox, and from what I know about the Orthodox, they believed in the trinity. Since our forefathers left because of certain religion differences, and the concept of trininty not one of them, why is so hard for you hardliners here to befief in Jesus as God? From what I heard form my deda and my 90 year old dad, both from Russia.....the Molokans where right on no different than the present day evangelical christians. Mormons,Jehova Witness and the Molokans are the only religions who disbelieve in the christian concept and through one man in each group there faith has been altered.

RE: When did we loose our faith?
Now there's a post with a lot of misinformation.
Quote:The Molokans were a break away from the Orthodox, and from what I know about the Orthodox, they believed in the trinity. Just a break away? Excuse me, those are the Stada-ved..and last I checked, were not Stada-Ved. Quote:Since our forefathers left because of certain religion differences, and the concept of trininty not one of them, why is so hard for you hardliners here to befief in Jesus as God? Uh, yes it was and it wasn't just "certain religion differences". Historical records both Molokan and Non-Molokan confirm this. Yes, Molokan's do believe in a trinity.....just not the Trinity Doctrine, huge difference. Just because you hear the word "Trinity" does not mean nor include the Trinity Doctrine. If you assumed so, then you assumed wrongly. Quote:From what I heard form my deda and my 90 year old dad, both from Russia.....the Molokans where right on no different than the present day evangelical christians. Where do I start...Ok, according to you "no different than the present day evangelical christians". So lets just exclude the Trinity Doctrine for now and examine your argument. Evangelical X-tians believe in "just war", we don't. They believe porky pig is a meat, we don't. We accept prophesy, for all intents and purposes, they don't. They believe in water baptism, we don't. They accept and recognize divorces through a hodge podge of reasoning and Bible twisting, we typically don't. Shall I go on? Your erroneous assumption is devoid fact nor supported. As for your dad and grandfather....I really love these type of arguments. It's based on your own memory and if you poison yourself enough with teachings from other religions, you can pretty much re-invent what they actually stated. And I'm probably right on this, because your statement is devoid of not just facts, but reason and logic as well. Basically you are stating that the entire Molokan belief system in the USA (and this is both Postyanni and Priguni) did a complete reversal. Now given that uniting Molokans is like herding cats, your stating they went from accepting the Trinity Doctrine to rejecting it. Molokans will break away and form their own church just because they don't like a particular church procedure...but you imply that the majority unified and rejected the Trinity Doctrine, when the last thing any Molokans did in unison was in opposition to the Military Draft. Then of course, you are forgetting something very important...we don't live in a vacuum and there are other Molokans around the world such as Australia oh and Russia. And guess what, the vast majority don't accept the Trinity Doctrine. Long story short your deluding yourself. Am I a hardliner? If upholding what our forefathers believed in and refusing to be accommodating of other religions beliefs makes me a hardliner, so be it, I'm a hardliner. But then so are you. Afterall, you're the one trying to modify history, facts, ignore basic reason and logic all for wanting to change the Molokan religion into your own image. When faith is chained to doctrine, truth becomes heresy and God is forgotten. |
