Ok, I guess this is in response to DHS. I seemed to think that he may have thought that some were not giving enough respect, honor or time to what we have in our own heritage, as far as songs and/or hymns go. I disagree with that assumption. I believe that some, including myself, enjoy other Christ based faith & spirit filled, with an awesome message, - music, even if it is from outside our brotherhood.

But saying that, Dan - your post reminded me of a song that I have been really touched by... Song #638 Phonetically - Vzivai k Bohgu.

Thanks for the translation damedic. The song is very joyful. Guess everyone will have to make up there own mind if it is wonderfully inspired or made by someone not Molokan and more of the futile mind persuasion.

As was said in an earlier thread, (FV - I think & not verbatim - but general thought is there), [color="navy"]beware of songs coming from the futile mind and not inspired from on high[/color].

Well, here are two songs we sing very commonly in church services, and we are inspired to the point where the Spirit is manifested upon some of the congregation, and very possibly the songs were not inspired by the author, or the one who introduced it as his. (The same person - I think??) Hmmm?

Now we come to see that the songs are being sung by non molokans, cossack style? Again, one has to wonder?

The verse "Sing the song of Moses and the song of the Lamb" gives it away as Dadz Bill Pro's song.

That verse is only found once I believe in the entire bible. Revelation 15: 3

But many times throughout our Spirit and Life.

Which only those who have conquered the beast and all of his false teachings can sing. Which the futlie mind can never understand.

The song of Moses is found in Deuteronomy 32.

According to a good source, the words are not consistant with Russian folk singing.


In "Essay on the the Religion and its Preceptors" found in the beginning of our S & L.

Chapter 12

" Semeon M. [color=navy]Uklein, travelling about the province of Saratov preaching about Molokanism, defined a system of precepts and principles for his own sect. Despite its spiritual dirrection he strove to establish actual church services.[/color]

So along with other matters, he was fervently interested in the introduction of good singing. Under his direction, the Molokans chose from among themselves their best singers, who were obliged to listen to the songs of the simple people and to convert the better melodies into psalms.

Frequently visiting communities of his sect, he listened to these new songs and approved them for general use and bettered them. He assigned little girls as choristors, whom he took with him on his trips."

Singing along with preaching Got Uklein thrown into prison.

"He finally decided to announce his teaching as a concrete fact. Surrounded by seventy pupils singing psalms, he entered into the city of Tambov jubilantly to preach this new teaching. For this he was imprisoned."

Uklein's teachings are rarely heard today in Molokan churches.

This was the next song hecomposedafter his song "Итак благословил Бог свой народ Духом Святым" was finished. When hecompleted this song the tune for "О сотрудник" came to him, and he worked on it through the night.

I asked a dear friend about the song & its origin; and it definitely is his song. It is thought to be composed around the late 60's to the mid 70's? My friend was not exactly sure?

The two older Prohoroff brothers, Dy. Bill & Dy. Fred, went to Russia about 30 years or so ago, give or take, and it very well may have been sung on this trip & possibly even recorded.

Now it is being sung by russian folk singers at different types of performances apparently?

There are already rumors being spread by people who never got along with him that he stole the tune from folk singers on his trips to Russia. However this is not true, a simple trip to the IZBA records website will show you where they admit that they sing songs taken from the "Doukhabors" and "Molokans".

I don't remember exactly when he wrote the song, but im almost positive it was any where from 1974-1978.
