70 State Parks Close

Well, I guess we can’t have some good news without a bit of bad news to go along with it.
The California State Budget cut $11 million from the already underfunded state parks, and directed the State Parks System to identify which parks to close based on projected attendance rates and historical significance. The final list includes 70 parks and recreation areas, including the Governor’s Mansion, Mono Lake, Salton Sea, and the popular Henry W. Coe State Park in Northern California.
